The Touquet-Paris-Plage Rally
In 1911, French racing driver and journalist Albert Lemaître had the idea of organising a car race between Paris and the seaside town of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. The inaugural edition of what was to become the Touquet-Paris-Plage Rally was held on 18 and 19 June 1911, with just 19 cars at the start. 92 years later, in 2003, the Touquet-Paris-Plage Rally celebrated its 100th edition. In that time, the rally has become one of France's most prestigious motorsport events, with entries often including some of the world's best drivers and cars. This year's rally will take place from 5 to 7 September.
