European Crafts Days

The Tuesday 2 April 2024Amiens will be hosting the 18th Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art. This year's theme, "Sur le bout des doigts" ("At your fingertips"), is aimed particularly at young visitors. For a whole week, young and old alike will be able to take part in workshops and demonstrations highlighting local craft techniques and know-how. Guided tours will also be available.

Investigation into the murder of a teenager

The town of Amiens was recently rocked by the murder of a teenager last April. The outcome of this case seems to be approaching, since twelve people have just been arrested in several French departments. This nationwide operation was led by the judicial police in cooperation with various police services. The public is closely following the course of events and hopes for a swift response.

Suspects arrested in connection with Sofiane's murder

The tragic death of Sofiane, a young man aged 16 who was shot dead at his home in the Amiens Nord district, has shaken the town. Investigators carried out more than a dozen people arrested in several départements on 6 December 2023, enabling a significant breakthrough in the investigation. The victim's twin brother was also injured in the tragedy last April. The community is now eagerly awaiting the outcome of the trial.

Grande Réderie d'Amiens

The big annual flea market is back for the spring edition, which will take place on sunday 21 april 2024. The Grande Réderie d'Amiens is held twice a year, in spring and autumn, and welcomes nearly 2,000 private and professional exhibitors on 15 kilometres of pavements in Amiens city centre. This treasure trove of sweet deals will be punctuated by a variety of events and lots of surprises.
